Real Science-4-Kids is a unique science program developed by Dr. Rebecca Keller, a scientist who spent 20 years in academia working in various fields such as molecular biology and neuroscience. Along the way Dr. Keller married and had children, and when her children were old enough, she began looking for science curriculum for her children. She noticed that most children’s science books did not provide what she calls “real science” but instead introduced science topics in a topical or “random fact” approach. Not being satisfied with this type of learning, Dr. Keller decided to create her own science books for her children and her friends’ children. This idea eventually turned into the Real Science-4-Kids science program published by Gravitas Publications, Inc.
RS4K differs from most science programs. Instead of generic “science,” Real Science-4-Kids introduces kids to the core disciplines of science. Students learn chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, and geology. Most science books for young children ignore chemistry and physics, yet chemistry and physics are foundational for all science. Instead of waiting until high school, Dr. Keller believes that young students should learn chemistry and physics in elementary and midschool grades.
Just like learning math, or music, or a language, science has essential building blocks that must be introduced early. Without these building blocks science can be “hard” to understand. But allow a child to learn the essential concepts that form the foundations for all science and suddenly science is “easy.” Dr. Keller

I love what I have seen of your program! I’m just getting started homeschooling my children. I currently have 5 children, the oldest is homeschooling kindergarten. I love that you cover similar topics in pre-level 1 and level 1. This would make teaching all my children at the same time much easier!
I just had one question: what about Human Anatomy?
Hi Emily,
I don’t have a separate human anatomy book as of yet, but that could change. Right now there are some human anatomy topics covered in the biology books, and the high school biology text will cover much more human anatomy, yet it is worth considering a separate book.
We have used the Level 2 Physics and Chemistry in our co-op. Your books are perfect for a co-op environment! We’re considering using your biology next year, but I was wondering when your geology book is coming out?
