The Focus On science series can be used to introduce students to the essential science subjects; chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, and geology. The books can be completed in a semester or extended for a year. These books are designed to give your students an introduction to “real” science – the kind of science they’ll need to know for high school and college.
You can follow the curriculum map below or have your student choose their own subject and work at their own pace.
Sometimes it’s better to order our books from one of our distributors. Many of our distributors have their own specials or promotions and can offer our books with other books or they can sell our books at a discount or offer better shipping rates. If you have other homeschool books you need to purchase or if are looking for a discount or need a better shipping rate, please check with our distributors. In addition if you live overseas, your local distributors can ship at much lower prices than we can. We’ve had some problems with file sharing. That’s right – some of you have purchased our pdf files and given copies to your friends. While we think our books are the best on the market and we want every child to use them, we can’t stay in business if the files are shared. So, we’ve pulled the digital files from our website for now and are switching to a format more compatible with the iPad and Kindle. We know that some of you need digital files and won’t file share so our digital files are still available. If you need a digital file, please contact our customer service representative, Theresa, at theresa@gravitaspublications.com and she can process your order.
Our books are “worldview neutral” meaning they don’t take sides in the evolution/Creation/ID debate. Our books are for those parents and kids who are ready to move past the evolution/Creation/ID battle, are willing to learn how to evaluate scientific information from multiple viewpoints, and understand the value of looking at science through many lenses. Also, if price is a concern, please check with one of our distributors or look at Dr Keller’s Deals below, but please don’t call our office asking for special discounts. We do run seasonal discounts and the occasional promotional, but we don’t regularly discount our books and can’t stay in business if we sell our books for less than what it costs us to produce them. If you run a co-op we may be able to offer a discount, but only if the books or classes are purchased as a group.

Note: If you are not comfortable using a computer and cannot troubleshoot simple technical difficulties or get overly frustrated with computer issues, please don’t sign up for our online classes. Our online class platform works well, but inevitably we have a few technical glitches, especially at the beginning of the semester. If a sledgehammer is your preferred IT tool, please order our print books or consider our course bundle.
REFUNDS: DROPPING/WITHDRAWAL FROM REGISTERED CLASS(ES) (no refunds after the 4th week of Semester)
- Dropping a class before the first day of class: forfeit the $25 registration fee plus 5% of total paid
- Dropping a class during the first 5 weeks of class: forfeit the $25 registration fee plus 20% per week of total paid (ex: during week #1 = 20%, during week #2 = 40%, during week #3 = 60%, during week #4 = 80%, beginning of week #5 fand forward= no refund)
