Our Level I Online Chemistry Class is a great way to get your kids learning chemistry with an expert! Dr. Keller is teaching our Level I online chemistry class. Dr. Keller homeschooled her children for 14 years and has a Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry. Dr. Keller knows what kids need to learn to understand real science.
Dr. Keller will walk your student through the 10 chapters of the Level I Chemistry student textbook and laboratory notebook. Students meet weekly through WebEx, our online webinar system. During the live lecture Dr. Keller will talk about scientific inquiry and what makes doing real science different than just learning science facts.

In addition to the live lectures, students will have access to 10 pre-recorded Power Point lectures by Dr. Keller. These are short (7-10 minute) presentations where Dr. Keller discusses the content in the student textbook. These lectures are available on the class page and can be viewed anytime.

During the week students perform the laboratory experiments independently and then meet for a 30 minute WebEX Question and Response on Friday. The Q&R is a time for students to bring questions, comments, and discuss their experimental observations.
Quizzes and class activities are also available. Dr. Keller uses Quia for the quizzes and class activities. Quia provides a virtual classroom and allows our teachers to create quizzes and educational activities.
How does it all work?Step 1- Immediately after you purchase your online class you will get an invoice from us confirming your order. On this invoice you will also get the links to download your ebooks for the course. Step 2- One week before class begins you will get an email with instructions for how to login to your class on Quia. Quia provides a virtual classroom and allows our teachers to create quizzes and educational activities. When your student signs up for an online class, your instructor will send out class information for Quia. If you want your child to take quizzes and use the Quia activities you must sign in for a FREE Quia account. Step 3- A few days before your first class you will receive an email that contains your WebEx login information. On the first day of class 10-15 minutes before class begins, click the link in this email, follow the instructions, and you will be connected to the live webinar lecture. Will my child miss out if the live component doesn’t fit in with our time zone? (We live in New Zealand). Can we replay the live sessions and view other questions and answer sessions? Would there still be a way of getting questions answered at a different time?

Yes, you will be able to replay all the live sessions. Both the pre-recorded powerpoint lectures and the live webinar classes will be available for viewing anytime.
You will also be able to email any questions your child has and if you need a live Q&A you can work out something with the instructor.

When do you expect the next bank of classes to run. I have a young man getting ready to start level 1 books and I am sure he would love this type of interaction! We do not have a group near us using RS4K at this time. So sad.
We might consider some summer school classes, and we will also have classes again next fall.
I have been looking for a Chemistry class and the level I sounds perfect for my son. Unfortunately, I found about it too late and the class has already started. Do you plan to have any more classes in the spring, or do we have to wait until next fall?
